learn more aboutMeditation

Meditation is an intentional practice, a way of transforming the mind. It is a way of entering the quiet that lies beneath the many layers of thoughts that flood our minds.

A practice wherein there is constant observation of the mind, meditation brings awareness, harmony and natural order in life. It helps you dig deep into your inner self to discover the wisdom and tranquillity that lies within.

There are many styles of meditation and the key is to find the one that resonates deeply with you, this then makes it more easier to practice and integrate into your daily life. Some students of mine prefer guided or visualisations, whereas others prefer breath awareness or chanting. Don’t be afraid to experiment and explore different styles.

The key is also to start small. We can all find 5 minutes in our day to meditate, perhaps its first thing in the morning or before we switch off for the night. They say if we create a practice and stick to it for 21 days then it becomes a daily habit, and meditation is a habit worth having!

When we practice meditation we actually become more mindful in our everyday life. We move through our day more aware of our thoughts, our actions, the way we speak and how we respond in situations. Our senses are more heightened; sounds, sights, smells, tastes and sensations. This is then the practice of mindfulness – awareness of ourselves and the world around us.

Remember, the key is to practice.
